Closing stage for Football

It turned out to be one of the most exiting finishes in world club football. Inter Milan retained its title in Italy, Barcelona was handed the award due to the loss of Real Madrid, and Manchester United repeated as champions by drawing against the gunners. The German Bundesliga has yet to be decided its champion and both the French League and Scottish League will go down the wire.

It is pretty much a historic day and I think it became more special because a lot of teams that were suppose to win it all again such as Bayern Munich, Celtic, and Lyon seemed to have lost their winning ways while teams that were dominant at start such as Inter, Barcelona, and Man United has consistently played through each match and has been awarded the crown before the end of their respective seasons.

Although the top leagues has decided its winner, there are still few interesting matches to look out for. One particularly is the Champions league final which will stage the Manchester United vs. Barcelona finale in Rome and despite both of them already winning major trophies this season, expect them to slug it out with their best match of their season because there is indeed a lot of history to play for. Barcelona has never won three major trophies in a season, and they are on course to do this with first year coach pep leading the way, while Man United has already won three Major club trophies but is aiming for the Quadruple which has been achieved so rarely in club football.

In contrary to the Champions league final, the FA cup final is staged on new Wembley at the end of the month and although it consist only of one of the big four and without any cinderella team, expect it to be an interesting match especially because neither team has found success in recent years. Everton has not won a major trophy since 1991 if I'm not mistaken while Chelsea has gone through a recent slump since the departure of the Special One Jose Mourinho. But expect Chelsea to demolish Everton with the squad selection of successful interim coach Guus Hiddink and with the desperation Chelsea has to break its recent slump.

All in all, football has been an extremely fascinating and successful year and the only thing left for us to witness is the finale between two giant clubs that dismantled their competition in the domestic stage. This match will eventually determine the best club in the world of Football and the best football player for this year (Ronaldo vs. Messi).
